So the link to Favtape was going to the wrong place. You folks have gotta call me out on this stuff! I don't have the time to do things like check the quality of my own website!

Limo, I like the minimalist feel, but I do think they could add a few more things in. The tracks at Favtape have a number of options below it and I don't really feel like it detracts that much. That said, it could get out of control pretty quickly.

Dave, thanks for the comment. I see your point, but...well, I don't know about you, but I used to fast-forward through mix tapes all the time, and rewind the best parts of individual songs. I don't see it as much different than being able to select individual songs.

Good find, Doug! I'll have to give that a try. I would really like to cue up multiple muxtapes and just listen solidly. So add that to the list of wished-for features.

I found this post quite thought-provoking. I used to post blogs on my Myspace page, and I really loved writing there. It sort of got me fired, though -- long story -- so I've been wary of starting a new blog. You've inspired me, though, Reid! Well, you and SeamlessWeb's offer of $100 in free food coupons to anyone who writes a blog post about their service.

This is pretty cool - I've seen your muxtape posts on friendfeed, and haven't really delved into it (by "delve" I mean, "press play"). My hangup was I don't really like keeping a webpage open to listen to a song - mostly because I'm anal and don't like having tons of web page windows open, and because I tend to close the windows out frequently - which interrupts the song of course. So, today I did a quick search and found this stand-alone muxtape player called "muxmaster": http://tinyurl.com/4wbdb9 I just installed it, and, of course, right now am having no luck at loading a muxtape, but I like this idea. Now to do my own...

Well I agree for the most part on multiple uploading of songs, but as far as for scrolling through songs I think that takes away from the nostalgia a mixtape can provide (although the ability to go seamlessly from one track to the next kinda does that on it's own). Listening to the whole song to get to the next, enjoying the progression of a mix versus just skipping along through whatever you like.

My feelings exactly on the state of muxtape. the stumbler is changing the way I hear about music...it still has a randomness to it, but its no longer picking a number out of a hat.

I second your point about maintaining the minimalist feel...I could see the site very quickly become an 'add on' wasteland. lets hope they keep the colored rectangle motif alive.

I tried various readers awhile ago for Windows Mobile (can't remember their names) and wasn't impressed - they were just to memory hoggish and clunky. Now I just have the homepage of my mobile browser go to google reader - which is nice because I don't have to set it up or anything (not to mention being synched with what I already have), and their mobile web format is easy to read and keep track of (but you have to like having all your feeds in one list - not bad for quick checking updates though)

I'd like to set this up again. Know of any good RSS readers for Windows Mobile? I haven't checked, but I think I can get this on that Kindle thing for a small fee (yes, I'd be willing to pay for it).

On the other hand, maybe we can cut out the middle man and I could just call and you could read it to me for a dollar or two.

So I go to put this track in my iTunes and find out that not only do I have the original version (which I've listened to once, apparently), but Kate Nash likes the song too:

If by "English" you mean "from Jacksonville, FL", then yes. They're "English".

Honestly, this is one of those bands (Los Campesinos is the same way), where I kind of have to switch off my picky side and just enjoy it. Actually, my picky side is switched off involuntarily by it being so goddamn catchy. These songs end up in my head, and I got tired of arguing, so I just enjoy. A lot.

Can I put these kids on a rocket with Los Campesinos and blast it off to some distant far away planet, never to be heard from again?! ;) Not really my cuppa, I guess.

Are these kids English? The main singer sounds kinda like a young Robert Smith, no?
